One of the most interesting projects I’ve had the pleasure to work on involved a large company with a real problem. The company had sales people all over the world, and had a hard time making sure they were all using the correct versions of marketing materials, with the latest updates. Often sales people would use outdated videos, or outdated Flash/SWF projects. To help ensure that only the latest media was shared, I helped build an Air Application that was installed on all the salespeople laptops.
This air application would allow the employee to pick what videos they need from a library of available videos. They were able to download them locally to their laptops, but the videos and interactive projects remained inside of the air application. The media from the local application could be embedded into PowerPoints, or used in presentations while the sales people were not connected to wifi. After the sales person reconnected to wifi, and a new version of a video asset was released, the files would automatically update. This project relied on the Drupal CMS to manage user credentials for the Air App, and distribute the Video and Interactive Solutions to users using the Air Application.
